20MnCr5 Case-Hardening Steel

1.7147

  • EN1.7147
  • EN20MnCr5
  • AISI5120

Case-hardening steel with higher carbon and manganese than 16MnCr5, giving higher core strength and hardenability. Used for medium-section gears and driveline components.

01Material Properties

  • Surface 58–62 HRC, core Rm 1000–1300 MPa
  • Medium hardenability; section ≤ 60 mm
  • Good wear resistance
  • Good machinability
  • Automotive gear standard

02Applications

  • Gears and gear shafts
  • Driveline and differential parts
  • Cams and camshafts
  • Pins and bushings
  • Bearing rings

03Delivery Condition

  • Soft annealed (max. 217 HB) or +FP.
